Overview

StormTrap is seeking a passionate, organized, and dedicated professional to join our team in a complex multi-stage environment. The Product Development Specialist reports to the Director of Water Quality Technology and takes on the role of lab supervisor. The Product Development Specialist will typically be working on developing and testing products, analyzing samples, and running pilot units. Responsibilities will include multiple aspects such as: day-to-day operation of both the hydraulic and analytical laboratories; providing technical expertise and support for on-going projects; developing and testing products; analyzing samples and running pilot units; participation in strategic planning and priority setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop experimental plans.

• Installing tanks, pipes, valves, and other equipment as required.

• Running experiments.

• Interpreting experimental results.

• Interpreting analytical results.

• Maintaining a lab book of activities.

• Preparing samples for analysis.

• Analyzing lab samples by following standard methods and procedures.

• Assist in generating scholarly materials such as white papers, conference abstracts for presentations, webinars, website content, specifications, and technical manuals.

• Monitor industry trends or paradigms to increase business opportunities.

• Professionally represent the Company and establish industry credibility through involvement within industry organizations.

This job requires work in a hydraulic laboratory environment. Individual may have contact with hazardous chemicals and dusts and will be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in these circumstances. Sometimes ladder-climbing and moving heavy objects will be required.

Job Requirements

• A degree in science or engineering (or equivalent) plus at least 3-5 years laboratory work experience is required.

• Hydraulics laboratory experience is preferred.

• Some analytical laboratory experience is preferred.

• Effective oral and written communication skills are required.

• Ability to travel as required to fulfill the duties as defined above; however, most travel will center on attendance at industry association events/conferences or corporate meetings as planned.

• Ability to commute daily to StormTrap laboratory. Laboratory location will be within North America and location may be determined upon potential candidate pool. Willingness to discuss relocation is preferred.

• Valid Driver’s License, current insurance, and a good driving record.
