Technical Sales Support Representative

Overview

The Technical Sales Support Representative (TSSR) is responsible for providing business support within the assigned region(s), most notably directly to the regional Territory Managers (TM), General Sales Manager (GSM) and/or Project Managers (PM). In addition, the ideal candidate will strive to grow this role into a technical resource for both internal and external contacts. For this reason, this position requires a technical competency within the engineering and construction industry, particularly the ability to read civil engineering specifications and design plans with relevance to stormwater applications. This position can be located in our corporate office located in Romeoville, IL or remotely in the region and provides support primarily through non-face-to-face interaction, such as: telephone, text, email, chatter and web-conferencing interfacing. The position must be able to support numerous TM’s as defined below (see Responsibilities), effectively prioritize areas of focus with the Senior Technical Sales Support Representative and manage time effectively. Additionally, this position includes a proactive, revenue-generating focus by sourcing new opportunities for the sales team from our lead source, Construct Connect.

Responsibilities

  • Support the TM’s when they are mobile and need documents sent to clients quickly,
    such as opportunity take-off and application of solution, entry of opportunity into
    Salesforce, preparation of estimate and entry of all pre-bid details into Salesforce.
  • Assist TM’s with entering new accounts, contacts, and opportunities in Customer
    Relationship Management system (Salesforce), as well as engineering case entry.
  • Assist the design department with the priority of cases when TM’s are not available
    (Utilizing AutoCAD software).
  • Interface with external engineering customers to obtain design information.
  • Project lead sourcing (i.e. Construct Connect) search assistance – identify and
    manage the project queue for preliminary/conceptual projects as well as identify
    value engineering/alternative project opportunities within the region. This would
    include reviewing online plans and tracking these opportunities.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager to obtain current material and freight pricing for input into project estimates.
  • Seek and Organize local regulatory requirements, contacts and approval needed for
    water quality and quantity.
  • Assist in organization efforts in Salesforce, Box (Cloud-based data sharing)

Travel

Due to company-wide meetings, tradeshows, regional meetings & regional events may result in occasional overnight travel (estimated at 3 instances per year).
