New concrete answer for developers who need to reduce stormwater detention & retention costs

ROMEOVILLE, IL and WINNIPEG, MB, July 07, 2016 – StormTrap®, a leading provider of stormwater management systems, and Lafarge Canada, Inc. announced today that they have entered into a licensing and manufacturing agreement. StormTrap has granted an exclusive license to Lafarge to develop and commercialize StormTrap’s detention and retention products in Western Canada.

Lafarge’s stormwater portfolio is proud to add StormTrap detention and retention systems. This new addition joins Lafarge’s existing oil/grit separator and stormwater filtration products, providing a full range of stormwater solutions.

StormTrap stormwater systems are designed to control volumes and flows leaving a site. The systems store runoff in large underground concrete chambers for a given period of time before the runoff is released at a controlled rate, or stored for other uses such as irrigation. This helps mitigate many of the harmful effects of high volumes of stormwater runoff, such as erosion and flooding.

StormTrap systems allow a site to maximize the volume of water stored while minimizing the project’s overall footprint. By installing the concrete systems underground, beneath parking lots or streets, the land above is still available to use for parks, buildings or parking lots. StormTrap systems comply with all Canadian surface loading requirements and are completely modular for customized site needs. Lafarge completes the solution by providing project engineering and design.

“StormTrap further adds to Lafarge’s environmental and sustainable product offerings which support LEED® and other green building programs”, comments Graham Fuga, Stormwater Specialist, Lafarge.

“StormTrap and Humes, a division of Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd, have worked together for nearly eight years. Today’s announcement represents a natural expansion of our strategic relationship with LafargeHolcim and continuing collaboration to deliver solutions to meet clients’ business objectives,” said Shawn Luton, Vice President of Sales, StormTrap.
