Caruth Park Project in University Park, TX, was featured in Informed Infrastructure magazine – August 2021. This project is part of the City’s solution to mitigate flooding issues that were occurring due to old and undersized stormwater infrastructure. In recent years, half of the area’s rain events caused flooding due to surpassing the system’s capacity.
StormTrap worked with the City of University Park, Huitt-Zollars, Inc., and Rebcon Inc. to design, build, and install a detention system for this project. This basin can hold 3.5 million gallons of water and will help manage runoff and prevent flooding. DoubleTraps were chosen to maximize the system volume and for its modular flexibility of form to preserve on-site features such as trees.
