Darien Crossing Project was featured in the Precast Solutions Magazine – Winter 2021 edition. The project is part of Philadelphia’s Green City, Clean Waters program to restore streams and stormwater infrastructure. Darien Crossing is one of the new parking lots within the Sports Stadium District which will feature green space areas that will serve as a filtration system for rainwater and a large underground storage basin.
StormTrap worked closely with Resource Environmental Solutions LLC, a water resource management firm specializing in ecological solutions, Pennoni Associates Inc., civil engineering firm, American Siteworks LLC, installing contractor, and AC Miller Concrete Products Inc., precaster, to design, build and install a detention system for this project. The basin can hold 334,836 cf of water and will help to manage runoff for over 30 acres of impervious parking lots adjacent to the Phillies’ Citizens Bank Park and the Eagles’ Lincoln Financial Field. Precast concrete was chosen for its durability and easy installation.
