StormTrap is proud to announce a partnership with researchers from Northwestern University to test a groundbreaking sponge technology shaping the future of stormwater treatment. Developed by Professor Vinayak Dravid and his team, the sponge is coated with nanoparticles that selectively capture pollutants such as metals (e.g., zinc and copper) and phosphate. This reusable, cost-effective solution tackles contamination from agricultural runoff and industrial processes.

This collaboration will evaluate the sponge’s effectiveness in real-world stormwater applications, marking an important step toward sustainable stormwater management.
