Project Details

Caruth Park in University Park, Texas, experienced recurring neighborhood flooding because the existing detention pond was undersized and could no longer effectively manage stormwater runoff. StormTrap provided a 10′-0″ DoubleTrap underground detention system to maximize stormwater storage within the developed site, addressing limited space and high groundwater conditions.

Challenge

The existing pond could no longer manage stormwater runoff effectively, leaving nearby homes vulnerable to major flooding. Limited site space and high groundwater levels added design and construction constraints.

Solution

StormTrap replaced the existing pond with a 10′-0″ DoubleTrap underground detention system designed to maximize storage within a compact footprint. A 4-inch PVC perimeter drain was also installed to help relieve groundwater surrounding the area.
