Project Details: Cranberry Hill, a townhouse and detached home community is under construction in Hamilton, ON. The development will consist of 350 units constructed in four phases. To meet local stormwater volume requirements, five detention systems were installed under parking lots and roadways to manage runoff on site.
Challenges: The main challenge of this project was to attenuate peak flow from the development site during storm events which was restricted by a downstream orifice plate.
Solutions: To solve the challenge, five SingleTrap detention systems of varying height were installed on concrete pads. Two of the five basins were designed with isolator rows as part of the conveyance system to meet volume requirements.
