John Q. Adams Elementary
Project Details
The John Q. Adams Elementary School project utilized a 4′-2″ SingleTrap detention system installed partially beneath an elementary school play field. The underground system provided 15,740 cubic feet of stormwater storage while preserving valuable play space. The project also featured a custom access structure with an integrated emergency overflow feature.
Challenge
The project required underground stormwater detention beneath an active elementary school play field while addressing site drainage requirements and providing reliable emergency overflow protection. The design also required coordination and approval from the City of Dallas and the local School Board.
Solution
StormTrap provided a 4′-2″ SingleTrap detention system configured to fit partially beneath the school play field. The 36-piece installation incorporated a unique access structure with an integrated emergency overflow feature to address the project’s design requirements.
