United States Patent and Trademark Office Confirms Validity of StormTrap’s Patent

Morris, IL  – StormTrap LLC is pleased to announce that on February 22, 2011, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) issued a certificate of confirmation reaffirming the patentability of StormTrap’s U.S. Patent 7,160,058 (’058) over the prior art. This terminates the reexamination initiated by Oldcastle Precast Inc. , which made an exhaustive study of the claims and offered extensive arguments against them. Following a careful review by the PTO of these arguments, along with arguments by StormTrap’s legal counsel, Husch Blackwell LLP, the PTO not only confirmed the originally-issued claims (with one addition to just one claim) but also granted several new claims that StormTrap added to the patent.
